Les Oisons

Such a lovely home, beautiful and peaceful countryside and fresh air. Thanks Steve and Avril for the hard work you put in to making our stay so enjoyable! Perigueux market on Wednesday mornings, Sarlat for fantastic architecture, Domme for breathtaking scenery.

A fabulous week, went far too fast. Weather was perfect. Recommend Friday market in Riberac and the Grotte de Villars (kids loved it). Be back soon!

Fantastic accommodation and location. Two weeks of bliss.
Diane, Gerard, Laura and Lydia. July 2008

All the family had such a great time. Steve and Avril were perfect hosts always there when we needed them. Ben (9) and Katie (6) loved the pool. Brantome was our favourite place to visit... great food and setting with great history. But I suppose the lingering memory will be the relaxing peaceful and stunningly quiet surroundings of Le Guichard. We're bound to be back!

We have all really enjoyed our week here. Comfortable house and beautiful surroundings.
The Duncan and Burnside family. August 2008

We have had a fabulous holiday here at Le Guichard! It has been the most relaxing holiday that we have had with the children. The house and pool are just perfect in beautiful surroundings. Canoeing and the pool have been the children's favourites - thanks for making us so welcome!

The nicest house we have ever had whilst holidaying in France, beautiful scenery and peace. So close to Sarlat, Perigueux, Riberac, the list is endless. Grand Etang La Jemaye is breathtaking and the water is always warm.
The Griffin family. August 2008

We were blown away by this place! Exceeded expectations. Highlight of the week 20km canoe to Beynac, best canoeing on the Dordogne. As everyone else says Avril and Steve are great hosts.

Had a fabulous time, the pool was a definite bonus. Would like to have stayed longer but back to old blighty.
Andrea and Matt. September 2008

Glorious September weather in a favourite place - we could easily have stayed for longer. Away from the beaten track visit Aubeterre and Dronne. The Romanesque church trail is worth doing, just follow the signs.

Le Papillon

We've spent seven relaxing days in this beautiful gite and enjoyed the countryside. At night time we have spotted deer, a fox and a hare! Enjoyed cycling round the quiet villages and loved the dip in the pool. We will miss this scenic setting.

What a wonderful experience! A great little place to stay, great hosts, great area and great weather! We are planning to retire here but will come back in future to check potential homes and will use Papillon as our base. Thanks for a great holiday.
Mark and Rachel. July 2008

A beautiful house in countryside with charming hosts - we have thoroughly enjoyed our short but very sweet stay at Papillon. Bourdeilles, Brantome. Roc St Christophe all worth a visit.
Nic and Billie. July 2008

I can honestly say that we had such a lovely time, we did not want to go home... one week wasn't enough. Papillon is so beautiful and had everything we needed. The man made beach at La Jemaye is lovely as is the smaller one at Lisle. Fishing is easy, get a 'carte de peche' in Riberac and you can fish on many local rivers. We are sad to go and will be back!
Sue and Craig. August 2008

Had some great weather this week. We visited the chateau in Bourdeilles when our ten year old encouraged us to climb the hexagonal tower. Brantome is another charming place to visit if you fancy canoeing or you can take a boat trip. Lots of restaurants if you are on a budget try the Hotel Coligny. We were adventurous and drove to Royane -excellent beach and the beach at Le Jemaye is also good if you don't want to travel that far. Would love to visit again Steve and Avril are very welcoming.

Thank you so much Avril and Steve for a fantastic weeks holiday. You mad us feel so welcome - it's been like home from home with sunshine. A tranquil oasis in the middle of an unrelenting world of bustle. Le Papillon is a great place to unwind and chill out.
Suzanna, Mike and Elliot. August 2008

Thank you so much - we have had a fabulous holiday, Papillon is perfect -thankyou for your recommendations and advice, we would love to come back in the future.

Dear Avril and Steve (and Jasper the cat), it might just be the shallots that Victoria is cutting but I suspect they are tears of joy and sadness. Joy at the wonderful relaxing time we have spent at Le Papillon and sadness that we have to go home! We are looking forward to wowing our friends with the wine and cheeses we purchased at Riberac market but of course we won't tell them how cheap the wine was!
Robert and Victoria. September 2008

We have enjoyed our all too short week at Papillon - a beautifully converted former barn. We have been coming to the Dordogne for 40 years and this corner has been new to us. We visited Brantome and the market at Riberac. Our sincere thanks for everything.
Ann and Ken. September 2008

Thank you to Steve and Avril for helping to make this week so relaxing, from advice to treats from the garden. Our first time in the Dordogne but certainly not the last. To the next lucky people in Papillon - enjoy the peace and quiet - we did!
